This morning I finally took the horses for a long walk. It has been far too long since our last walk.
Today was one of my favorite ways to spend a Sat. morning. Brushing horses, relaxing with them while they eat, a little training, and going for a walk or adventuring with them with no time schedule.
As we were walking down the road, a car slowed down and a woman offered me a few horse treats for my horses! In all my years of riding, this was a first! I asked her if she always had horse treats with her and she exclaimed yes! She always stops by her neighbor’s to give their horses treats when she drives by. I love it. Living in the country rocks!
A half mile or so down the road there are two separate fields with horses side by side. They were whinnying, running, bucking and generally all over the place. Even with these horses running amuck as we walked by my guys were gems. My love and appreciation of my horses quadrupled. All that slow ground work sure pays off. Big sigh of contentment.

There are so many wonderful things about living in Virginia. But the random acts of kindness, and people who plan so that they are not so random, like your lady who keeps treats in her car, cement my belief that southern country people are the best in the world.
How nice that she shared her kindness with you all.
